How Do I Get My CDL?
To earn your CDL, you must:
Pass the DMV written knowledge tests (General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and any required endorsements).
Complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) – federal requirement since 2022.
Pass the CDL skills/road test with a DMV-approved vehicle.
At Avian Driving School, we make this process simple. Our training programs combine classroom instruction, ELDT theory, and behind-the-wheel training to prepare you for every step of the DMV testing process.
Why Train With Us?
At Avian Driving School, we specialize in preparing students for their CDL Class A and Class B licenses. Since 1992, federal law has required all drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) to hold a CDL. These vehicles demand skills, knowledge, and training well beyond those needed for a standard driver’s license.
The CDL exams are challenging without professional training.
Many employers require proof of CDL training, even if you pass the test on your own.
With our licensed instructors, road-ready vehicles, and step-by-step programs, you’ll gain the confidence and qualifications needed to start your career as a professional driver.

Operating commercial vehicles is more than just a well-paying job. It is a starting point for a career and a quick path to success for many individuals. At Avian Driving School, we provide top-notch options and essential resources to help you reach this objective. We are committed to preparing you for your CDL permit, offering custom packages, and ensuring successful placement in entry-level and experienced CDL positions.
